PERFORMANCE AND REPORTING

  • Review and develop performance reports, and monitor progress so that realistic, achievable and effective reports are developed.
  • Identify reporting requirements needed to support the Operation & Maintenance activities, entailing liaising with the contractor partners and resource planning functions to resolve resourcing issues.
  • Monitor data input to ensure cost and performance systems meet the required data standards.

RAIL SAFETY

  • Maintain the Safety Case for the operation on the Airlink to obtain the necessary safety certification, liaising closely with the Independent Safety Assessor, construction contractor and other interfacing organizations.
  • Ensure that all new hires receive a full departmental induction and all necessary training to become competent in their role within their probation period in conjunction with the Training, Knowledge Management System and Internal Communication unit.
  • Ensure the competence of all team members and arrange any training that may be required to ensure up-skilling and continuous development of staff capability.

TRAINING AND KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT

  • Organise and manage training programmes, ensuring that staff gain and develop the skills they need to carry out their jobs effectively.
  • Speak with other managers to identify training priorities, drawing up an overall training plan.
  • Produce training materials, including e-learning when suitable.
  • Work with external providers to develop specialist courses.
  • Manage and lead a team to deliver and assess programmes.

LINE CONTROLLER

  • Thorough understanding of train operation controls such as train supervision, train regulation, manual route settings and associated activities in a central control room environment.
  • Knowledge of training requirements to supervise and coordinate train operations.
  • Control, supervise and coordinate train operations to ensure that the safety and availability of train services are delivered on the Airlink railway.

DEPOT CONTROLLER

  • Thorough understand train operation controls such as train supervision, train regulation, manual route settings and associated activities in a central control room environment.
  • Know training requirements to supervise and coordinate train operations.
  • Supervise and control all train movements within the Depot area to support the scheduled timetable and to ensure the safety of operations for the Airlink Railway.
  • Supervise and control the train movement in the depot by utilising various computerised tools to ensure trains adhere to predetermined schedules, monitor the movement of trains on the control console, assess delays and implement measures to rectify the situations, avoid trains bunching up and ensure the safety of operations.

OVERHEAD CONTACT SYSTEM (OCS ) CONTROLLER

  • Oversee and manage real-time status of the traction power and activate maintenance teams for immediate action, if necessary.
  • Manage the anomalies inherent in the power sources used by the railway infrastructure for its correct functioning.
  • Manage and coordinate communications for all problems relating to the continuous supply of power to the electricity grid.
  • Adopt emergency procedures to overcome any system failures in coordination with the incident control room.
  • Following Train Dispatcher’s disposals, remove the power supply to the railway line in case of failures or emergency situations.
  • In case of crises, if necessary, access to and operates from the dedicated incident control room.

CREW KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT

  • Identify the training needs for the Train Drivers.
  • Identify and develop the technical competence need regarding Train Drivers.
  • Train the operative staff to achieve the required target of technical and to obtain the related relevant certifications related the conduct of rolling stock and qualifications for railway routes.
  • Provision of training courses concerning railway regulations, rules of conduct and related updates.
  • Liaise with other Maintenance & Knowledge Management managers to understand the requirements regarding technical competence.

REVENUE MANAGEMENT

  • Ensure that all issues related to the Automatic Fare Collection (Ticket office terminals, Ticket vending machines, Fare gate, Inspector or conductor device).
  • Ensure that safe and secure cash collection activities from all stations with the cash collection company in coordination with the station teams.
  • Plan and manage the Ticket vending machines maintenance.
  • Work closely with broader management team, and in particular with the Security Director and key stakeholders (e.g. Police, Airport Authorities, enforcement agencies etc.).
  • Carry out what AFC policies and the related operating procedures require.

KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT (KEY STRUCTURE)

  • Identify the training needs in the fields of Signalling , Platform screen door (PSD) and Telecommunications (TLC).
  • Identify and develop the technical competence need regarding Signalling ,Platform screen door (PSD) and Telecommunications (TLC) and make revisions if required.
  • Train the operative staff to achieve the required target of technical competence in the fields of Signalling ,Platform screen door (PSD) and Telecommunications (TLC) and to obtain the related relevant certifications.
  • Liaise with other Maintenance & Knowledge Management managers to understand the requirements regarding technical competence.

KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT AUTOMATIC FARE COLLECTION (AFC)

  • Identify the training needs in the field of Automatic Fare Collection (AFC).
  • Identify and develop the technical competence need regarding Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) and make revisions if required.
  • Train the operative staff to achieve the required target of technical competence in the field of Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) and to obtain the related relevant certifications.
  • Liaise with other Maintenance & Knowledge Management managers to understand the requirements regarding technical competence.
  • Report as far as Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) is concerned.

KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT OVERHEAD CONTACT SYSTEM (OCS)

  • Identify the training needs in the field of Overhead Contact System (OCS).
  • Identify and develop the technical competence need regarding Overhead Contact System (OCS) and make revisions if required.
  • Train the operative staff to achieve the required target of technical competence in the field of Overhead Contact System (OCS) and to obtain the related relevant certifications.
  • Liaise with other Maintenance and Knowledge Management managers to understand the requirements regarding technical competence.
  • Report as far as Overhead Contact System (OCS) is concerned.

KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT EMERGENCY SUPPLY SYSTEM (ESS)

  • Identify the training needs in the field of Emergency Supply System (ESS).
  • Identify and develop the technical competence need regarding Emergency Supply System (ESS) and make revisions if required.
  • Train the operative staff to achieve the required target of technical competence in the field of Emergency Supply System (ESS) and to obtain the related relevant certifications.
  • Liaise with other Maintenance and Knowledge Management managers to understand the requirements regarding technical competence.
  • Report as far as Emergency Supply System (ESS) is concerned.

KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT TRANSPORT ROUTE WAGON (TRW)

  • Identify the training needs in the field of Transport route wagon (TRW).
  • Identify and develop the technical competence need regarding Transport route wagon (TRW) and make revisions if required.
  • Train the operative staff to achieve the required target of technical competence in the field of Transport route wagon (TRW) and to obtain the related relevant certifications.
  • Liaise with other Maintenance and Knowledge Management managers to understand the requirements regarding technical competence.

KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT CIVIL WORK

  • Identify the training needs in the field of Civil Track.
  • Identify and develop the technical competence need regarding Civil Track and make revisions if required.
  • Train the operative staff to achieve the required target of technical competence in the field of Civil Track and to obtain the related relevant certifications.
  • Liaise with other Maintenance and Knowledge Management managers to understand the requirements regarding technical competence.
  • Report as far as Civil Track is concerned.
  • Comply fully with procedures and work instructions as part of the certified training and induction courses regarding Civil Track.
  • Advise safe methods of work for Civil Track and related activities.

KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT ROLLING STOCK MECHANICAL

  • Identify the training needs in the field of Mechanical Rolling Stock.
  • Identify and develop the technical competence need regarding Mechanical Rolling Stock and make revisions if required.
  • Train the operative staff to achieve the required target of technical competence in the field of Mechanical Rolling Stock and to obtain the related relevant certifications.
  • Liaise with other Engineering anf Knowledge Management managers to understand the requirements regarding technical competence.
  • Report as far as Mechanical Rolling Stock is concerned.
  • Comply fully with procedures and work instructions as part of the certified training and induction courses regarding Mechanical Rolling Stock.
  • Advise safe methods of work for Mechanical Rolling Stock and related activities.
